Mission

The Junior League or Pueblo (founded in 1977), is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism and to improving the community through the effective leadership of trained volunteers.

OUR VISION

The Junior League of Pueblo is a recognized leader in the community, committed to fulfilling the needs of the child. Volunteers nurture the individual, advocate for the rights of the child and strive to empower the children of Pueblo to reach their full potential.

OUR GOALS

The Junior League of Pueblo will

Provide volunteers and funds to support programs that address the needs of families and children
Provide training that prepares women to be effective volunteers and leaders in the community
Provide an environment that incorporates diversity in its membership
Create community awareness about the needs of young children

WHO WE ARE

An organization that reaches out to women of all races, religions, and national origins who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to voluntarism.

WHAT WE DO

Junior League of Pueblo contributes volunteers and dollars direct to service projects, collaborations, advocacy and training around our focus area of the education of children. The Junior League of Pueblo researches needs facing our community and collaborates with non-profit agencies to respond to those needs. The Junior League of Pueblo has supported multiple community projects, providing financial support as well as volunteers.

Current Community Projects

-Promote positive relationships between children at risk and community members at our annual Holiday with Heroes Event.  Partial proceeds from the event help us to purchase “sweet” cases for our local foster agencies.  The event is free for foster families and other low income families from the Pueblo community.

-Introduce healthy snacks and provide nutrition education to the children at our local Boys and Girls Club.

-Provide basic need support to Catholic Charities and other organizations within our community wide diaper drive.

HOW WE DO IT

The Junior League of Pueblo commits volunteers, who contribute thousands of volunteer hours. The proceeds of our fundraising efforts provide the revenues to support our purpose and programs.

WHY WE DO IT

Each of our members has made a personal commitment to improve the quality of life for our community.
